Little Einsteins’ Math Carnival

Hours and hours went by

in planning with care

to make the Little Einsteins Math Carnival

a fun and joyous fair!

Volunteers from two centres

got together to ponder

on ways to stimulate the students

to illustrate their grey matter.

Mails and several calls

were exchanged in a hurry.

Ideas were discussed

and debated upon in a flurry.

After much deliberation,

a solid plan was laid.

All the materials and questions

were efficiently made.

At last came the day

bringing with it much excitement.

Volunteers stood ready at stalls,

busy with their last minute embellishment.

Rows of colourful balloons,

a giant snakes and ladders board,

tiny avatar body parts

carried the ‘secret’ marking code.

All the kids lined up eagerly,

ready to manifest their intelligence.

The various stalls aimed at testing

their understanding and brilliance.

Shapes, memory, place values,

addition and subtraction

were tested along with

multiplication and division.
Each volunteer had to use

his or her discretion

to judge each child’s proficiency

as close as possible to precision.

It was truly heartening

to watch the kids have a blast

and know that they were able to summon

what we taught them in the past.

And yet again through Bhumi,

young minds were enlightened.

Concepts of mathematics

were recalled and brightened.

Thus, SISTWA and Avvai Home

witnessed a grand assessment.

Hard work and innovation

Led to this achievement.
